After ten years of multiple investors, bankruptcy woes, and stalled development Baha Mar finally opened for business in April of 2017. Baha Mar is a luxury resort complete with three hotels, casino, spa, private residences, and a champion golf course. Baha Mar is intriguing because of what it means to the ongoing Bahamian tourism renaissance, in particular Nassau the capital.
The three hotels consist of the Grand Hyatt, the SLS Baha Mar, and the Rosewood Baha Mar which is set to open in September 2018. The Grand Hyatt features rooms, suites, multi-cultural dining venues, and meeting spaces. The SLS features rooms, luxury residences, and a global concierge.
Additional resort amenities include a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Caribbean’s first and only ESPA spa, seven tropical pools, the Sanctuary-home to indigenous wildlife, the Explorers Club for kids, and luxury shopping.
